Pardon me, but your ass is on fire.
A pretty good overview of news clips, with some amazing stuff thrown in..
We start off with a display of Russia's air might. I like the parachute demo when the skydivers had to climb on to the wing of the plane and slide off! Wow.
A demo of a new product is shown next.. Milk Wool! Wool made of, yes, cow's milk (some guy even takes a messy drink from the milk). What ever happened to this? Did it spoil after a while?
We then see a daredevil attempt some sort of jet propulsion trick, only to have the jets light the seat of his pants. Ouch. He tries again, but falls on the same seat. Ouch.
After that is a great overview of what I guess was the Super Bowl until it was called the Super Bowl. The 1937 'World's Pro Crown' between the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears is an exciting game, and this newsreel footage proves it!
From there it's a year in review story, with scenes from the Hindenburg blowing up, the War in Madrid, King George abdicating the throne, and Amelia Earhart's last flight.
Pretty good mix.

news as entertainment
This film is now only trivia..The opportunity to gain understanding of important events was missed .But is this also true of much of todays television ? However this does not diminish the value of this film. From this and other vast archival film and internet resources, a new worthwhile film ccould be made
